Klout Pains!

If you don't know what Klout is, you might not want to. 

In short, it ranks your social reach on a scale of 1 - 100. 

It says that most people get a score of 20 so I was thrilled with a score of 51! 

But then I wanted better numbers, started trying to use the site more, added a lot of sites and people that influence me. 

The next day my score was 28.

How the heck does being more active get me from 51, to 28?

I still can not figure this out.

My main blog did well last month thanks to a news story I posted about. 

TIP: Blog about news events as soon as the story breaks! Research is your friend!

This month though I have not kept up with the news. I was busy with reviews. 

Honestly I am a bit behind. There is a site I wanted to share with new bloggers who want to review.

Currently my blog is jumping again, though I honestly do not know why. The day counter just flipped for me and I was happy with the number in the 700s for today. Honestly being so new I am happy when the number is over 200 so 700 is wonderful! 

Make an Award!

One of the good ways to get the right kinds of readers to your blog is to make an award and give it out to those blogs who fit the theme and are beautifully done. Find those blogging goddesses and show them how you noticed how wonderful they are! I hope someday to do the same!

I noticed this award and thought it was interesting and fitting for the blog it is on! It is the versatile blogger award! Most blogging Goddesses have a corner of the internet that they call home. A rather exclusive one. The best blogs are often single topic based. Some though manage a wide range and I love those ones the most. They are however the hardest to pull off!

So if your just starting, find one of your passions and stick to it rather being too open ended. The more on topic you are, the higher the chances are that you will get ranked by the important sites. 

How often should I blog again?

I had mentioned a bit ago that my plan was to blog daily, and I have done fairly well with that. My newest monthly page views are up to 6,000 and I am very happy about it!

One of the things that has helped as been joining blog giveaway groups! You can search for them on places like facebook and if you can not find any, contact me and I get you some current links. 

In short, you spend a little money with other bloggers to help promote one another, to get new viewers, and in short, it is fun! Who doesn't like to win things? 

Above all though, post, post, post. 

If writing is not your passion, this might not be the right path for you!

(Ignore that I do not post here often enough yet! LOL) 

If you where not wise enough to schedule posts for when your on vacation, plan to be up late posting then too and hope your bed and breakfast Inn has better wireless internet than the one I was in did!

How often should I blog?

  The holidays are here and most all of us are busy, specially mothers. My family is on vacation visiting family and I have found it hard to keep up my blog. I missed just a few days of blogging and my views per day went from in the hundreds with no promotions or blog hops to 45. This of course is not acceptable so I was sure to blog at least once a day, back blog a bit as well, and to scheduler upcoming posts for the rest of my vacation to take the pressure off. If I find I have the time, and inspiration to blog I will of course jump in and add another post.

 Anything less than once a day is just not acceptable at this point.

 Current views per month: 2,600

Not a Goddess Yet!

  You might wonder why I have a blog with the title "A Blogging Goddess" if I am not such a being yet.
Yet. You might well be, and if you are, I bow before you. I have been blogging a bit for years now, but started making a big effort for 2011 with a 365 photo blog. Mostly it is of my children, projects, life. Things that are personal. I was getting a few hundred views a month, not that I paid much attention. I was writing for me, for those who know me personally so they could keep up, and so that I would be able to look back on this year and remember it more clearly. I will explain why another day I imagine.

   Then one day I was out of the blue asked to review a book. I was taken back by the notion. Me? It was not like I had a lot of readers or comments, it was not because I was someone ever so special as you might be in the internet world. It was however and offer. I took it. Now with this possibility in my mind I started to think more about where my blogging could go, how maybe, just maybe, my beloved internet time could further serve my family and my creative spirit.

  Before my eyes it started to unfold. I found a small group of mothers online who do small reviews. I was offered a few and did them joyfully. I got to try free products and give my honest opinion. Whats not to love? But then I had my first review and giveaway. I had no idea how much work it would be when I started it. Work you say?

 Shouldn't people flock to enter a give away for something free? I thought so too. I was wrong. Maybe you knew it wasn't easy. I wish I had. So I spent countless hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I needed more readers, I needed readers that didn't just know me, and didn't just have my main theme in common. I needed readers who seek out giveaways. It took me a bit but I found them. My blog went from rather unknown to now over 2,000 hits a month. This I promise you if you don't know, is still small, minuscule even. Just as this one now is all bright and shinny and new, in a wide open black internet as no one knows I am yet here, well if your reading this you know I am here.

  So here I shall be, learning how to be an blogging Goddess. I hope to learn from the best, and you are one such goddess, I am all ears and eyes if you are willing to share tips. If however your a new little blogger, maybe I can make your path to being a blogging Goddess smoother.

  This shall be my journal of blogging goodness. I will post resources and tips and I am sure a lot of things you may with you did not take the time to read! Your time has value, specially if your a stay at home mother.  Now to just give your time and talents a voice and an audience.
